Sprint Anglia

Words & photos - Daniel Bevis

This 105E Anglia is a perfect example of how not to overdo a car - it's clear that a lot of thought has been put into the function and aesthetics without going too far. Based on a 1200 Deluxe, it now sits a little closer to the ground (not show car low - race car low, it's a purposeful stance), while the spotless engine bay houses a very era-appropriate choice of motive power: a crossflow on twin Webers. There's period charm in the red roof that's colour-matched to the side flashes, and there's even a set of blue dots in the tail-lights to tie the build into a cheeky retro outlaw vibe. Beautifully done - nothing superfluous, and it doesn't need a thing more.
