E36 Art Car

Words & photos - Daniel Bevis

Players linchpins Jay McTolridge and Carl Taylor built a rather special pair of BMWs for the 2014 show season. They're both based on E36 323is, and take their vinyl-wrapped styling cues from BMW's iconic art cars; one from Roy Lichtenstein's 1977 320i E21 Group 5 racer, and the other - the car you see here - from Jeff Koons' 2010 M3 GT2. Each wears a boisterous, polarising Sarto Racing Rocket Bunny wide-arch kit, as well as their own set of unique, custom Rotiform wheels - in the case of this Koons-aping build, they're split-rim IDKs in shimmering blue. An AirLift setup means they can get show-car low while also negotiating speedbumps and potholes without too much drama, which makes sense given that they've just been on a 2,000-mile road trip around Europe...
There's a full feature on both cars here on Speedhunters.
