Players Classic 2013

The glorious British summer sun arrived just in time for the 2013 Players Classic at Goodwood. It was a peculiarly un-Goodwoodish atmosphere too, with the cravats and jackets making way for the lip piercings and tattoos of the modern stance brigade. The vintage paddocks, usually filled with priceless classic fare, were teeming with Golfs on air-ride, Sciroccos on Bentley rims, and all manner of brightly-coloured, fashionable trinkets.
There was a solid mix of manufacturers and styling approaches as well as automotive eras; modern cars (especially from the VAG stable) made up the majority of cars on show, but there was plenty of retro fare to amuse and delight too. On the whole, a thoroughly enjoyable way to spend the day!
As always, SuckSqueezeBangBlow will be bringing you a closer look at a number of key highlights in the next few days, but in the meantime, click here for the full set of photos.
Oh yes, and tomorrow's the Bromley Pageant. Busy weekend!
