Steampunk W114

This may well be the most magnificent W114 on the scene today. It's certainly one of the most striking. Ladies and gents... meet the steampunk Mercedes-Benz.

The build centres around those Modena Autostrada wheels, with their copper-plated centres and brass-plated lips. Now, there's not a lot of cars that copper and brass would work on, but in applying an overall steampunk aesthetic, they make perfect sense here. The bonnet features louvred copper panels and dozens of rivets, and further riveting can be found on the bumpers, sills and along the custom copper console (which houses the air-ride gauges) inside. Countless hours have gone into perfecting the bodywork, stripping off all paint, straightening to OCD levels, welding and smoothing all trim and badge holes, then attacking the whole with fine-grit sandpaper to achieve a brushed stainless-steel effect; it was then coated with Nyalic to prevent corrosion. This is, quite simply, one of the coolest and most obsessively detailed stacklight Mercs in the world.
