James Hetfield's Iron Fist

It's well known that Metallica's James Hetfield is a dyed-in-the-wool car guy, and this is his take on a stalwart hot rod classic: a 1936 five-window Ford Coupe, built by Blue Collar Customs.
Airbag suspension gets it sitting that low, mated to Mustang bits 'n' bobs and a four-linked rear, while power comes from a 350 small block with an Edelbrock three-deuce intake and Stromberg 97s. The body's finish, in deference to the usual uber-polished fare, is deliberately left as bare metal; there's nothing rat-look about this idea either - rather, it demonstrates the transition from old to new, something Hetfield was keen for the car to show. (And also... it's metal. And Hetfield is metal. Obviously.) And just look at the interior - a cosseting vision of oxblood leather and cosy coccooning. This is a unique build - one of contrasts, and more than a little controversial. Which is all, of course, a very Metallica way to behave.
