Zombie Lowlight

This lowlight Karmann Ghia represents all that's fashionable in the rat VW scene: artfully rusted and patinated bodywork that's actually very straight and solid, sump-scraping ride-height (see the sparks in the last picture below), a lot of tuck at the front and a lot of camber at the back. Rat-by-numbers? Perhaps, but who cares - it looks superb. It's on air-ride of course, and is a riot of contrasts: sumptuous leather buckets sit beside potato sack doorcards, while the junkyard aesthetic belies its performance, provided by a 1641cc unit with twin-36 Webers and ceramic headers. A legend within the scene, this.
