Mazda MX-81 Aria

The MX-81 Aria, a 1981 Bertone design study, was based on the humble Mazda 323. The exterior features a broad glasshouse and pop-up headlights (of course, it was the eighties), but it's the interior that's truly impressive; the pattern on those seats would make a proud addition to the wardrobe of any self-respecting pro golfer, and do you see that rubber belt around the instrument binnacle? That's the steering wheel! Impressively odd idea, but probably for the best that Mazda didn't stick with it...
