Fiat 147 Abarth

No, that's not a typo in the title - this is a Fiat 147. Produced in Brazil between 1976-86, the 147 shared much of its architecture with the European 127, but featured a larger engine to compensate for their much poorer quality of fuel.
Fiat Brazil never developed an Abarth version, but if they had, this is what it would probably look like. I particularly love the stance over those banded steels - it sits beautifully, and has enough travel to be serious fun in the twisties.

There's a word in Brazil which has no direct English equivalent, but which translates roughly as 'a vague and constant desire for something that does not exist... a turning towards the past' - that word is saudade. I think that sums up the 147 Abarth rather nicely.

That damn car has driven me to the PH classifieds, to pore over 127s!
