Chelsea Auto Legends 2011

The second annual Chelsea Auto Legends event saw an impressively diverse collection of classics, road and race cars converge on Chelsea's Royal Hospital. The weather was typically British - muggy and humid, then extremely wet - but this did little to dampen spirits. The cars on display were roughly organised into such groups as Le Mans racers, Minis, Italian cars of the 60s & 70s, modern supercars and coachbuilt grand tourers. While you could argue that twenty quid apiece is a bit steep for what is essentially a static event, the diversity and sheer quantity of cars ensured that there was plenty of aspirational and drool-worthy metal to pore over; what's more, an excellent evolution from last year's inaugural event saw the displays spreading through the undulating, leafy woodlands of the park, giving you the chance to escape the crowds and amble through the car-flanked trees. And the fact that it's a quick bus ride from SSBB HQ puts it firmly on the top-flight event calendar!
