BMW 328 Hommage

Here's a detail that should feature on all concept cars: leather bonnet straps.
The BMW 328 Hommage is a design study to celebrate the original 328, which is 75 years old this year; it also still holds the record for the highest average speed over the Mille Miglia, so it's something worth remembering.
Unveiled at the Villa d'Este concours, the 328 Hommage is something of a techonological showcase for BMW (as you might imagine). The body is made of carbon-fibre reinforced plastic, while the dash sports a pair of iPhones, of all things, to act as trip-meters for rallies and suchlike. Of course it won't be making production, but the idea of BMW concepts featuring taped-off headlights for competition is a happy little statement of intent...

I still prefer the 'other' 328 homage concept, the 2006 Mille Miglia

Yes, that is spectacular. I love that they made it into an actual working model too - it looked superb driving at full pelt up the Goodwood hill!
