911 GT3 R hybrid at the 'Ring

Porsche's new 911 GT3 R is a hybrid in the coolest sense possible - not a weirdy-beardy Prius, but a new generation of hybrid that actually uses its powers for good. For starters, it's a 911 race car. That's a great start. Connected to the screaming flat-six is an electrical flywheel power generator, which acts like an F1 KERS system; the driver has a boost button - just like a video game - which provides an extra 161bhp for 6-8 seconds when the generator's charged.
