English blood, German heart

Mike Pugh's '59 Ford Thames van has become something of a legend. The diminutive utilitarian hauler is an oft-overlooked model, with those that have survived into the 21st century generally being subject to roof-chops, V8 transplants, Jag rear ends and the full on hot rod treatment. What Mike's done is to sympathetically restore the van's body to a beautifully detailed finish, while hiding the engine and running gear from a BMW 2002 beneath, essentially creating a short-wheelbase '02 with a classic British appearance. A very odd combo, but one that works perfectly.
